A little preparation will help make your journey through Italy more comfortable and enjoyable.

Use this checklist as a general guide for our 13-night tours. Pack according to your personal needs, the season, and the itinerary provided for your departure.

Luggage Guidelines

Each guest may bring:

  • One lightweight checked suitcase weighing no more than 50 pounds

  • One small backpack or personal item

Please do not bring an additional rolling carry-on.

Limiting luggage makes hotel changes, vehicle transfers, and group travel considerably easier.

We recommend leaving some space in your suitcase for purchases made during the tour!

Pack in Your Personal Item

Keep these items with you during the flight:

  • Passport and travel documents

  • Wallet and valuables

  • Phone and chargers with extra charging cable

  • Italy-compatible plug adapters

  • Portable power bank

  • One complete change of clothes

  • Essential toiletries within airline limits

  • Eyeglasses or contact-lens supplies

  • Prescription medications

Clothing

  • 7–10 casual shirts or tops

  • 3–4 pairs of pants, shorts, skirts, or other bottoms

  • 1–2 outfits for evening dinners

  • Lightweight sweater or jacket

  • Compact rain jacket or umbrella

  • Sleepwear

  • Undergarments and socks

  • 1–2 bathing suits

  • Hat and sunglasses

  • Comfortable walking shoes

  • One pair of comfortable evening shoes

  • A lightweight layer or scarf for religious sites

Choose comfortable, versatile pieces that can be worn more than once.

Comfortable walking shoes are essential! Many Italian cities have cobblestone streets, steps, and uneven surfaces.

Toiletries & Health

  • Personal toiletries and grooming products

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste

  • Deodorant

  • Sunscreen

  • Lip balm

  • Prescription medications

  • Over-the-counter medications you regularly use

  • Contact lenses and solution

  • Spare eyeglasses

  • Small supply of tissues or hand wipes

  • Dual-voltage hair or styling tools, if needed

Bring enough prescription medication for the entire trip and keep it in your personal item during air travel.

Gino carries a basic first-aid kit during scheduled tour activities.

A plug adapter changes the shape of the plug—it does not convert electrical voltage. Check that personal appliances are marked for dual-voltage use before bringing them.

A Few Final Tips

  • Avoid bringing expensive or irreplaceable jewelry.

  • Do not overpack; you will be responsible for handling your luggage during portions of the trip.

  • Wear your bulkiest shoes and outer layer while traveling.

  • Label your luggage with your name and contact information.

  • Keep both a paper and digital copy of your passport.

  • Review the weather shortly before departure and adjust accordingly.
